Urgent appointments

To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday):

  • If you feel unwell with a NEW medical problem and feel you need to contact us on the day of illness, please call us on 268031. This includes for home visit requests. You may be offered an appointment or call with one of our team which includes our Advanced Paramedic,, Nurse Practitioners, Physio, Mental health workers, our colleagues at Taurus or pharmacy team. We may also advise you to speak to Community Pharmacists if your problem is something they can deal with.
  • You can phone us on 01432 268031, Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm
  • Or visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 6:30 pm

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

How to See a Clinician at the Surgery

We are available for face to face appointments. You can book these either online via the NHS app or by calling the practice. You can now book in advance.

If your problem is ongoing/not new or not improving, please contact us online here. You can do this from 8am to 1pm Monday to Friday. We will assess your request within 48 hours of receipt and reply to you with a plan. This may include advice, a prescription, a text or call back to arrange a suitable appointment. We may also refer you to other team members as above.

There are also lots of things we can manage for your over the phone or via video call now and we will help you with this if we need to do that.

You can also book Nurse and Health care assistant appointments in advance.

Online Booking

Use the NHS app available from the app store NHS App and your NHS account – NHS (www.nhs.uk)

The “On Call” Doctor

One doctor is “on call” every day. This doctor will have fewer appointments that day so that he/she can deal with urgent matters and give advice.

Appointment length

Appointments with doctors and nurses are routinely 15 minutes long, if you feel you need longer please request a double appointment.

Intimate Examinations

If you wish to have a chaperone present, please mention this when making your appointment.

Second Opinion

You are entitled to seek a second opinion from another GP within the practice.

7 Day Working

We can now offer pre-bookable appointments 6pm – 8pm Monday – Friday and 8am – 8pm Saturday and Sunday.

This service is provided on behalf of the practice by Taurus Healthcare Limited and is based at South Wye Medical Centre (next to Asda): this includes GP, practice nurse and health care assistant appointments.

You will need to book an appointment for this service through Cantilupe Surgery reception staff or NHS 111.
