Pharmacy – Minor Ailment Scheme

Find Your Local Pharmacy

If you or one of the family are suffering from any of the following:

  • Allergies/Hayfever
  • Skin rashes/itches
  • Conjunctivitis
  • Insect bites or stings
  • Eczema/contact dermatitis
  • Athletes foot
  • Threadworm
  • Vaginal Thrush
  • Diarrhoea
  • Indigestion/heartburn

You do not need to see a GP or visit an emergency service – go along to a participating community pharmacist, provide proof that you are registered with a Herefordshire GP and you will have a consultation with the pharmacist in private who will either prescribe the appropriate medication if required, give advice on how to deal with your symptoms or if he/she feels your symptoms are serious refer you straight to a GP or the appropriate service if outside surgery hours.

There are leaflets available from the surgery – there is a list of participating pharmacies on the back – all in Hereford City offer the scheme including the ones in the supermarkets and several in the surrounding towns.
